Art Experiences – one on one

Art Experiences – one on one engage the student in art-making activities with an in-depth focus on areas of personal interest.

New media, approaches and techniques are introduced and ideas are explored and expressed in multiple ways.

The student in the photographs turned a love of horses, into the impetus for discovering new ways to create representations of them.  Projects and explorations included depicting movement in drawing and sculpture, portraying landscape and perspective with sketching and painting, mixing colour and revealing texture, examining shapes through mixed media construction, playing with line in printmaking, creating cartoons, storybooks, mixed media puppets and dioramas…  Instead of being restricted by a desire to only draw horses, the student learned how many different ways she could explore them, and in the process, discovered new approaches to expressing her ideas.

Increased self-confidence, self-expression, problem-solving and communication abilities are just some of the ways these experiences enhance and develop a child’s skill set.

Many parents report that after MAKE IT sessions, children work for uninterrupted hours happily creating at home.  Some students share their art and knowledge with classes at school and utilize new creative approaches to complete school projects.   Others recognize that art-making feels good, gives them a feeling of accomplishment and the inspiration and confidence to try new things.

More than just a pleasurable past time, MAKE IT art experiences open up the world of creative expression and equip children with new tools and languages of communication.  Most importantly, these experiences provide special memories that will be valued for a lifetime.

Please contact Alana to arrange for your child’s Individual Art Experience.  Available in HAMILTON only.
