About Alana

My name is Alana Didur and I created MAKE IT to provide quality Creative Arts Experiences to people of all ages and abilities.  Art and creativity are fundamentally important aspects of my life. I share my knowledge and enthusiasm through classes, workshops, special events and guided excursions. I’ve been an Art Instructor since 1998, primarily at the Dundas Valley School of Art.  I am a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design, and spent several years studying Art Therapy.  I’ve shared some of my multimedia work internationally, collaborated with other artists, curated exhibits, established Art programs for people with mental health issues, and developed popular courses for adults and many children.  You can hear some of my sound work on soundcloud.com and may discover videos, illustrations, paintings, collages, stories and various other things, by chance or intention. My art experiences are extensive and so is my interest in creativity.  I believe it can be nurtured, developed, and utilized to produce more than art work.  It can increase self-awareness, confidence, communication, problem-solving abilities, enjoyment and understanding.  Creativity can unite us, guide us, and inspire us to make our ideas come into being.  This belief in the benefits of creativity fuels everything MAKE IT offers.
